REMEMBRANCE DAY

A poem I found:

"Across this great land, from coast to coast, on November 11th we remember those who gave the most. At 11 o'clock, wherever we be, we bow our heads and our hearts for thee.

For the boys and girls that left their homes and their lives, for the sacrifice they made so that we could survive. These boys and girls, we will always adore, in the souls of the people their memory soars.

Know that they thought of us as they walked into fight, stride after stride, and imagine the sight. The future lives that had not yet been, that they fought to preserve what they had not seen.

A sign of their bravery, their devotion to home, they laid their lives on the line and now they do roam, in the hearts of their people, who never did see, what these great people did do so that we may be free.

The war is long over, and the sun rise reveals, the glistening medals our veterans now wield. Let us remind them how proud we are, so they never forget, our love is not far.

Lest we forget, what was done for us then, so that we remember they were our friends. Our brothers, our sisters, our moms and our dads who made the ultimate journey to protect what we had.

These are the people, the women and men, they are what makes us... Canadian."
